COUNSELLING FOR FAMILY WELLBEING AND MORAL DEVELOPMENT: A FRAME WORK FOR PROMOTING NATIONAL STABILITY AND INTEGRATION

Family wellbeing is a critical bedrock for the moral development of individuals and the overall stability of a nation; of which its shortfalls may not only strain the resources and emotional reserves of families but also have broader implications for national stability and integration. This paper therefore, examined family wellbeing and moral development as it promotes national stability and integration. The concept of family wellbeing, measures of family wellbeing, family
wellbeing and moral development, the essence of family wellbeing and moral development on
national stability and integration were all examined in this paper. It was concluded that family wellbeing, being a fundamental aspect of moral development of individuals, the stability and integration of the nation, hence, tackling the issues attached to its adequacy requires an all-inclusive approach that recognizes the diverse needs of families and implementation of policies and interventions that is aimed at strengthening the family units. Among others, it was recommended that, parents should endeavour to employ a parenting pattern that will positively impact upbringing of their children. Educational institutions should integrate family life
education into their curricula to equip individuals with the skills needed for healthy family relationships. This education should cover topics such as communication, conflict resolution, and financial management.
