Abstract

This study explored the interplay between Emotional intelligence and counselling in resolving conflicts in organisationsin Lagos State, using a Systematic review approach to highlight how emotionally intelligent professional counsellors can foster a conducive environment where there is an understanding of conflict and its resolution. Through the analysis of the components of Emotional intelligence, which are: self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and social skills. This study brings to fore the importance in navigating and properly handling conflicts. The findings suggest that the application of Emotional intelligence by counsellors in their practice will help them to engage in constructive and ef ective discourse, capable of managing emotions, and enhancing collaborative problem-solving skills among the conflicting individuals or groups. Ultimately, applying Emotional intelligence in counselling practices promotes better conflict resolution outcomes, thereby making way for healthier interpersonal relationships in organisations and our societies as a whole.
